About 15 years ago, strange moths appeared in my home and being a collector of wool and silk clothing, and also once having bought bug-infested flour, I was anxious to prevent any more waste and damage.

I took a moth specimen to Pierce County Vector (Pest) Control and was instructed that I had clothes moths and should have all my clothes dry cleaned and thoroughly empty and clean all the drawers and closets; very expensive and time consuming to protect a six person household.

Being a Home Economics major in school, and aware of household hazards, I wanted further confirmation before spending so much money and time.

The Yellow Pages directory led me to Whitworth Pest Solutions office and lab where Terry Whitworth checked the specimen with his microscope and asked if I had traveled out of state recently. Yes, I had, and coming from Texas had bought a big bag of nut shells to feed the birds. Terry said they were from grain farming country and would not live long enough in my home to cause me serious damage.
